Greetings! My name is Deron Paton, and I'm proud to call the Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam, my community is a vibrant blend of cultures and traditions, where the lush landscapes meet the serene waters of the Pomeroon River. Growing up here, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our local cuisine, from the savory pepperpot to the sweet and satisfying metemgee, which bring family and friends together around the table.
As a resident of Guyana, I’ve witnessed the incredible potential our nation has, boasting an abundance of natural resources like gold, bauxite, and timber. However, I share the sentiment of many in our diaspora who hope to see these riches translate into real development for our communities.
