Hello! My name is Desmond Henry, a proud farmer residing on the picturesque River Boradoro Island in Koria, in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up amidst the lush greenery and vibrant community of Guyana, I've always felt a deep connection to our land. From waking up to the sound of the Pomeroon River flowing nearby to savoring a hearty plate of pepper pot and rice or fresh fish curry, my life has been enriched by the flavors and rhythms of our culture.
As a farmer, I’m dedicated to cultivating not just crops but also the values of hard work and community spirit that define our Guyanese way of life. I often reminisce about the days when neighbors would come together to clean the yards and share stories, just like my great-grandmother taught me. Though challenges exist, like the ones mentioned in the diaspora community, I believe in the resilience of our people. We’ve weathered storms, both literal and metaphorical, and yet our warmth and hospitality remain unmatched.
