Greetings from Essequibo! My name is Desmond Worrell, a proud labourer based in the vibrant community of A9 Block AA Vergenoegen, located in the picturesque Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and stunning rivers of Guyana, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our natural beauty and cultural heritage. Whether it's savouring a delicious plate of bami or enjoying the stunning views from River Para Island, my roots are deeply embedded in the rich soil of this land.
My work as a labourer has not only provided for my family but has also allowed me to connect with the diverse communities across Guyana. I often reminisce about my childhood adventures in places like Lower Pom River and the stories shared around the fire in the evenings, filled with laughter and the scent of freshly cooked meals. The camaraderie among us Guyanese is something I cherish deeply, whether it's through the warmth of a familiar face or the shared excitement for life’s little pleasures.
As I continue to forge my path here, I am also grateful for the vibrant Guyanese diaspora that stretches across the globe. Whether it's hearing about fellow Guyanese like Danny making waves internationally or getting updates from family abroad, the connection we share transcends borders.
