Greetings! I’m Devanand Lall, a proud labourer hailing from the beautiful Essequibo Coast, specifically the vibrant Aurora Estate in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up near the winding waters of the Pomeroon River has instilled in me a deep appreciation for the natural beauty that surrounds us. Whether it’s the lush greenery or the colorful markets filled with fresh fruits and spices, life here is enriched by our rich biodiversity and cultural heritage. I often find joy in sharing traditional dishes like pepperpot and metemgee with my family and friends, reminding us all of our roots.
My community is a close-knit one, where everyone knows each other, and we take pride in our traditions. From celebrating Mashramani with joyous parades to participating in the vibrant festivities of Phagwah, the spirit of togetherness is alive and well.
