Greetings! My name is Devendra Bisram, and I proudly call the serene Dieren Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region, this area is a vibrant hub of Guyanese culture, rich in natural beauty and an abundance of culinary delights. Growing up here, I’ve been fortunate to savor the simple yet incredibly delicious fare that defines our local cuisine, from the beloved fried rice paired with crispy fried chicken to the unique flavors of our Guyanese Chinese dishes that have been a part of our community since 1834.
As a resident of Guyana, I cherish the deep connection to my heritage and the warmth of our people, who embody resilience and hospitality. While there are challenges we face, such as economic concerns and maintaining our beautiful landscapes, I remain hopeful for our country's future.
