My heart belongs to this land of rich culture and stunning natural beauty, where the mighty rivers like the Pom and Evenuri flow through our lush landscape. Growing up here, I’ve always cherished the simple joys—like savoring fresh coconut water and enjoying the warmth of our community gatherings, where laughter and stories are shared over a delicious bowl of pepperpot or a plate of curry and rice.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I carry my roots with me wherever I go. I strive to keep the essence of our culture alive, from the way I pronounce our local names to sharing tales of iconic spots like Warakabra Hill and Bamboo Landing with those who may not be familiar. It's important to me that the true spirit of Guyana shines through, especially when I hear comments from others that reflect both love and critique for our homeland.
