Hello! I'm Devica Badley, a dedicated teacher from East Bank Essequibo, nestled in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of Guyana has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our rich cultural heritage. From the rhythmic sounds of our folk music to the delicious flavors of our local dishes, like pepperpot and metemgee, I strive to incorporate these elements into my teaching, making learning an engaging journey for my students.
As a proud member of the Guyanese diaspora, I often reflect on the strength of our community, both at home and abroad. Whether it's the spirited discussions about our beloved Essequibo River or the shared pride in our nation’s potential – evidenced by our budding oil economy – I am committed to inspiring the next generation to embrace their identity and contribute positively to our society. In my spare time, I love exploring the nearby River Mora and enjoying the serenity it brings.
