Welcome! I am Devika Yacoob, proud resident of Bank Essequibo, nestled in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and vibrant rivers, I have always been inspired by the rich tapestry of cultures that define our nation. From the flavorful aroma of pepperpot simmering on the stove during Christmas to the vibrant celebrations of Mashramani, my life has been shaped by the diverse traditions that flourish here.
My home is a stone's throw from the Essequibo River, a place where the stories of our ancestors blend seamlessly with the everyday lives of modern Guyanese. I cherish the connections that span across continents, from the bustling streets of New York to the lively neighborhoods of Toronto, where many of our diaspora call home.
