My great-grandmother hailed from Barbados, and her tales of life in British Guiana remind me of our complex history and the resilience of our people. I take pride in sharing our narrative, especially the lesser-known contributions of the Tamil community, affectionately known as "Madrasi," which adds another layer to our vibrant identity.
