Hello! I’m Dexter Jones, a proud Guyanese boat captain navigating the beautiful waters of the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. I call Coast 725 Supenaam my home, where the lush landscapes and vibrant culture are as rich as the flavor of our beloved roti (yes, it’s not roodie, it’s roti!). My days are spent steering vessels through the serene rivers and creeks, sharing stories and laughter with locals and visitors alike, while keeping the spirit of our community alive.
Growing up near places like Tapai Creek and Cocorite Point, I have a deep appreciation for the stunning natural beauty that surrounds us. Whether it's a quiet afternoon fishing on the Pomeroon River or celebrating the New Year with family and friends, these experiences shape who I am. I take pride in the warmth and resilience of our people, where even amidst challenges, kindness and community shine through. I believe that no matter where life takes us, it’s our roots and connections that keep us grounded.
As I share my love for the waterways and the vibrant culture of Guyana, I also cherish the vibrant diaspora that extends beyond our shores. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
