Welcome! I’m Dexter Miguel, a proud resident of Portion Manawarin Borada in the Southern Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Nestled along the scenic Pomeroon River, my home is a vibrant reflection of the diverse cultures that make up our beautiful nation. As a founding member of Caricom, Guyana holds a unique position in the Caribbean and South America, and I’m proud to share the richness of our heritage with the world.
Growing up amidst the lush landscapes, I have developed a deep appreciation for our local cuisine, from the mouth-watering pepperpot to the sweet and satisfying metemgee. Whether it’s enjoying a hearty meal at a local eatery or gathering with family for a traditional celebration, food is at the heart of our community. I believe that sharing these experiences with others, especially those in the diaspora, strengthens our bonds and keeps our culture alive.
In my spare time, I love exploring the beautiful landmarks of Guyana, from the majestic Kaieteur Falls to the serene beaches of Essequibo. I also enjoy connecting with fellow Guyanese, both at home and abroad, as we share our stories and experiences. Together, we can celebrate our unique identity and showcase the incredible beauty of Guyana to the world!
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
