Living close to the Essequibo River, I find inspiration in our beautiful surroundings, and I often take a break from farming to enjoy a warm bowl of pepperpot or some fresh cook-up rice paired with fried fish. The flavors of our land are as diverse as our people, and it's not uncommon to share a meal with friends or family while discussing the latest happenings in our diaspora community. We often reminisce about our time in Georgetown, where the hustle and bustle of the city contrasts with the tranquility of Parika.
