Welcome! My name is Dhanamattie Parbhu, and I proudly call Hall Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled in the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I cherish the beauty of our local scenery, from the lush landscapes along the Pomeroon River to the warm smiles of our close-knit community. As a devoted housewife, I find joy in nurturing my family and embracing our rich Guyanese culture, which is a delightful mix of traditions and flavors.
Food holds a special place in my heart, and I often reminisce about the mouthwatering dishes that represent our heritage. Whether it’s a fish sandwich loaded with all the fixings, a hearty double with pepper pot, or a sweet mini cheese pie, the culinary delights of Guyana are a source of pride. I’m always ready to share a good recipe or enjoy a meal with friends and family under the shade of a mango tree by the Upper Pom River.
Though I may be rooted here, I deeply appreciate the connections we share with our diaspora in places like South Jamaica Queens and beyond. It’s heartwarming to hear stories from others who have carried our culture with them, and I believe it’s essential to celebrate our heritage, irrespective of where we are.
