Hello, I'm Dhandai Persaud, a proud housewife residing on the beautiful Essequibo Coast, specifically 48 East of Public Road in Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this vibrant land where the Pomeroon River winds through our communities, and the lush landscapes offer a backdrop enriched with culture and tradition. Being Guyanese, I find immense pride in our diverse heritage, which is a melting pot of Indigenous, African, Indian, and European influences. I love sharing stories about our nine Indigenous groups, from the Arawaks to the Waraus, and celebrating our unique festivals that highlight our rich cultural tapestry. Despite being far from our homeland at times, I maintain strong connections with the diaspora community, where we reminisce about home, share traditional recipes, and support each other in our journeys.
