Hello! My name is Dhaniram Sieunarain, and I am a proud fisherman residing in the picturesque Coast 28, just east of Back Street in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of beautiful Guyana. The tranquil waters of our rivers and creeks, like the River Curimeru Wakapau, are not just my workplace but also my home. Each day spent on these waters connects me deeply to both my ancestors and the rich fishing traditions that have been passed down through generations.
Growing up surrounded by the vibrant culture of Georgetown, I have always cherished the beautiful wooden homes that line our canals. Though I now live in a world that often leans towards modern conveniences, I hold a special affection for the lush greenery and the warmth of our local communities. Here in Guyana, we celebrate each other’s traditions, and I take pride in sharing my love for dishes like pepperpot and metemgee with friends and family alike. It's those shared meals and stories that truly define us.
