Nestled along the lush Pomeroon River, my community is a vibrant blend of cultures, reflecting the rich history of our country. Although geographically located in South America, Guyana's heart beats strongly in the Caribbean, and I take pride in our British colonial roots and the English language that unite us with our Caribbean neighbors.
As a fisherman, I spend my days navigating the waters and connecting with the land that has sustained generations of my family. There's a special bond we share with the Essequibo River – it's where I learned the art of fishing and the importance of respecting our natural resources. In my downtime, I love to prepare traditional dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice, which showcase the flavors of our diverse heritage.
