Hello! I’m Dhanraj Goberdhan, a skilled carpenter hailing from the vibrant community of Essequibo, located in Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this beautiful land, where the lush riverbanks meet the warmth of the people. Growing up here, I learned the art of woodworking from my father, who taught me not just to craft with my hands, but to infuse every piece with the spirit of our culture. Whether it's a sturdy set of furniture or intricate decorations, I strive to reflect the rich heritage of Guyana in all my work.
Being a Guyanese means celebrating our diverse flavors, from the spicy aroma of pepperpot to the sweetness of coconut bake. I love sharing these culinary treasures with family and friends, often gathering around a table filled with good food and laughter. Our local landmarks, like the Essequibo River and the nearby mud creeks, inspire my creativity and connection to the land. I also cherish the connections within our diaspora community, where we recognize that despite the distance, the essence of being Guyanese binds us together—similar to how Black Sherif celebrated our women, we carry our pride with us wherever we go.
