Welcome! My name is Dhanrajie Singh, and I proudly call the beautiful region of Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. Nestled along the serene shores of the Pomeroon River, I find inspiration in the lush landscapes and vibrant culture that define our community. Whether it's gathering with family for a hearty meal of pepperpot and cassava, or enjoying a glass of El Dorado Rum while exchanging stories about our shared heritage, I am deeply rooted in the traditions that shape our lives here in Guyana.
As a resident of 249 Fisher Dam, I cherish the connections we have with our diaspora. Many of us, like my neighbor Anthony, fondly recall our roots by referencing the stunning Upper Pom region, where the river flows gracefully and community ties remain strong. I believe in embracing our diverse backgrounds—be it East Indian, African, or Indigenous—and celebrating the unique blend that makes Guyana a special place. It’s essential to acknowledge that there truly is no Guyana without both our African and Indian heritages, as my friend aptly pointed out.
Through my journey, I have come to appreciate the importance of sharing our stories and experiences, especially with those who have ventured far from home.
