Welcome! My name is Dhiaram Bissoon, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled along the Pomeroon River, my community is rich in natural beauty and cultural heritage. Here, we cherish our local traditions, from the vibrant celebrations of Diwali to the mouthwatering flavors of our cuisine, like the famous Guyanese baked dishes that bring family and friends together. Although our capital, Georgetown, may have its challenges, I believe that the countryside offers a refreshing contrast with its serene landscapes and the warm hospitality of its people.
As a resident of 88 Back Street, I have a unique perspective on life in Guyana. While we face issues like waste management and safety concerns, I hold onto the hope that our communities can evolve and thrive. For me, the essence of being Guyanese is not just in our struggles, but in our resilience and the connections we maintain with family, both here and abroad.
