Welcome! I am Dilinee Bisaul, a proud resident of Bank Essequibo in the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Nestled alongside the Essequibo River, my community is rich with the sounds of nature and the warmth of our local culture. Growing up here, I have always been inspired by the lush greenery and the diverse traditions that permeate our daily lives, from the lively celebrations of Mashramani to the mouth-watering flavors of pepperpot and cook-up rice that bring friends and family together.
As a passionate advocate for my community, I cherish the connections we share, not just locally but also with the Guyanese diaspora around the world. While our population may be modest, the spirit of Guyanese people resonates strongly wherever they go, be it in New York, London, or elsewhere. Whether we are sharing stories over a plate of fried plantains or discussing our shared experiences of migration and resilience, it is this bond that keeps our culture alive and flourishing, no matter where we are.
