Hello! My name is Dinzel Williams, and I am a proud pastor based in the vibrant community of Coast Demerara, right along the 5 Public Road in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, I have always cherished our rich cultural heritage, from the flavors of our beloved pepperpot to the rhythmic beats of tassa music that echo through our festivals. I firmly believe in the importance of faith and community, and as a pastor, I strive to uplift those around me, drawing inspiration from the resilience and warmth of our Guyanese people.
As a member of the diaspora, I often hear from fellow Guyanese who express a deep longing for home. I can relate, as I too feel that pull whenever I reminisce about the serene Pomeroon River and the bustling markets of St. Monica. It’s not just the stunning landscapes that I miss, but also the rich conversations and the sharing of stories that make our culture so unique. Whether it’s enjoying a Sunday meal with family or engaging in heartfelt discussions about our heritage, these moments shape who we are and keep our connections strong, no matter where we are in the world.
My journey as a pastor transcends geographical boundaries, as I work to foster a sense of belonging and community among Guyanese, both at home and abroad. I am inspired by the resilience of our people, encapsulated in the words of my fellow Guyanese: “WE MADE IT.” Together, we celebrate our achievements, embrace our traditions, and support one another in faith and fellowship.
