Greetings! I’m Donald Garraway, a proud Guyanese mason located in Bank Essequibo, Phase 2 New Housing, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of Guyana, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our rich heritage, which is reflected in the craftsmanship of my work. From the majestic Kaieteur Falls to the bustling markets of Georgetown, the essence of our land inspires me to create structures that stand as a testament to our resilient spirit.
As a mason, I take pride in not just building homes but fostering a sense of community. Whether it’s sharing a plate of pepperpot or enjoying a sweet treat of guava cheese with my neighbors, I believe in creating spaces that bring people together. My experiences traveling within and beyond our borders have shown me the strength of the Guyanese diaspora, and I cherish the connections I’ve made with fellow countrymen, whether in the Caribbean or as far away as North America.
In my work, I aim to uphold the standards that reflect our culture while also embracing progress. It’s a journey filled with hard work and dedication, but as we often say—“let them hate, we’ll keep building!” Together, as we move forward, I remain hopeful for a bright future for our beloved Guyana, proud of its growth and the progress we continue to make as a community.
