Greetings! I’m Donovan Madramuthu, a proud resident of D Public Road Better in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of beautiful Guyana. Growing up in this vibrant community has deeply influenced my identity, where the rich blend of cultures shines through in our daily lives. From savoring a plate of aromatic pepperpot at Christmas to enjoying a sweet slice of guava pie from a local vendor, the flavors of Guyana are a significant part of who I am. I cherish the lively gatherings, where laughter echoes and stories are shared, creating bonds that stretch across our diverse backgrounds.
Georgetown, our capital, may be a bustling hub, but it’s the lush landscapes and serene rivers of Pomeroon that captivate me the most. Whether it’s a leisurely boat ride on the Pomeroon River or a visit to the historic St. George's Cathedral, I find inspiration in both the natural beauty and the resilience of our people. It’s true that many outside Guyana may not fully understand our journey, often misrepresenting our vibrant culture. However, I take pride in sharing the genuine experiences of our land, as well as the warmth and hospitality that defines us.
As part of the Guyanese diaspora, I am keenly aware of the unique perspectives we carry. Many of us have family ties spread across the globe, and I often connect with those who share a similar heritage, reminiscing about our roots. My mission is to celebrate our identity while fostering understanding and appreciation for the richness of our culture. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
