Hello! I’m Doodnauth Bharrat, a proud carpenter from the lush and vibrant Essequibo Coast, specifically the 5 Side Line Dam North area of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the rich landscapes of Guyana, from the mighty rivers to the bustling markets filled with spices and the sweet aroma of cook-up rice, I’ve always been inspired by the beauty of my homeland. My work reflects this inspiration, as I craft not just furniture but pieces of art that tell the story of our culture.
Being part of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the connections I have with fellow Guyanese around the world. Our traditions and shared experiences, whether it’s celebrating Diwali with my Indian heritage or indulging in a good plate of pepperpot during the holidays, keep me grounded and connected to my roots.
