Greetings from the Essequibo Coast! My name is Doodnauth Singh, and I am proud to call this vibrant region of Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. As a labourer, I dedicate my days to working hard and contributing to my community. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich biodiversity of Guyana, I have developed a deep appreciation for our natural wonders, such as the breathtaking Kaieteur Falls and the serene beauty of the Essequibo River. These places remind me of our shared heritage and the adventure that comes with exploring the hidden gems of our beloved land.
In my spare time, you can often find me indulging in the flavors of our local cuisine. From the sweet taste of mango and squash sour to the savory delight of pepperpot, Guyanese food is a reflection of our diverse backgrounds, including our East Indian roots. The warmth and hospitality of our people shine through in every meal, as we believe that food is best shared with family and friends. As part of the Caribbean community, I take pride in our culture, which is steeped in history and togetherness, strengthened through the Caricom treaty.
Through this journey, I aim to connect with fellow Guyanese and those in the diaspora who carry our culture with them. I welcome conversations about our experiences, our traditions, and the unique stories that bind us. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
