Hello! I’m Doreana Komar-Sanicha, a proud resident of Pomona on the Essequibo Coast. My roots run deep in this vibrant land, where every sunrise over the Pomeroon River reminds me of the beauty and resilience of our community. Growing up near the lush greenery and the gentle sounds of the river, I’ve developed a profound appreciation for our local culture, from the rich flavors of jollof rice and pepperpot to the warm camaraderie of our festivals.
As an active member of the Pomeroon-Supenaam community, I cherish our connections, both locally and within the Guyanese diaspora. I often reflect on comments from friends and family who share a love for our homeland, like Emmanuel from Warakabra Hill and the spirited conversations about our role in the Caribbean.
