Hello! My name is Dorothy Ralph, and I proudly call Coast 20 Suddie Housing in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. As someone deeply rooted in the rich cultural heritage of our nation, I cherish the flavors of our local cuisine, from the spicy pepperpot to the beloved cook-up rice, always shared among family and friends during special occasions. My heart beats to the rhythm of our vibrant festivals and the warmth of our community spirit.
Living in a country often overlooked on the South American map, I find joy in the unique connections we share, especially with our neighbors in Suriname. Just like those “weird kids in the class,” we might sit quietly in the corner, yet there’s a bond that ties us to our Caribbean roots. Whether it’s sharing stories from our homeland or reminiscing about our favorite spots, like the Essequibo River or the lush Kaieteur Falls, I take pride in representing our culture wherever I go.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I am committed to bridging connections with others who share this journey.
