Greetings from the Essequibo Coast! My name is Dularie Narharry, and I proudly call Dutch Quarter in Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of Guyana has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our rich culture and heritage. From the aroma of duck curry and dhall puri wafting through the air at family gatherings to the stories shared during lively chats under the stars, I cherish the simple yet profound joys of our daily lives.
Though our nation faces economic challenges, as many have noted, we hold onto a unique happiness that thrives within our hearts and homes. The spirit of togetherness is palpable, whether it’s celebrating Mashramani in the streets or coming together for important family occasions. I often find it amazing how even in the diaspora, our culture and connections remain strong, with friends from all corners of the world sharing their love for our food, traditions, and the beautiful landscapes of Guyana.
