Hello! I’m Norma Edwards, a dedicated farmer from the vibrant community of Manawarin in the Barima-Waini region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery of our bountiful lands, I developed a deep connection with nature and the agricultural practices that sustain our way of life. My days are spent tending to crops such as cassava and rice, which not only feed my family but also contribute to the rich culinary traditions we celebrate, like our beloved metemgee and pepperpot.

As a proud Guyanese, I cherish the sense of community that thrives in our local markets. It's where stories are shared, and laughter echoes, much like the gatherings we have at the famous Shell Beach or during vibrant cultural festivals. I am also deeply connected to the Guyanese diaspora, where our music, from chutney to calypso, continues to echo in the hearts of those far from home, reminding us of the warmth and resilience of our shared heritage.

In my spare time, I enjoy sharing my love for Guyanese cuisine and farming techniques with others, whether through community workshops or family gatherings. Together, we celebrate our roots and the flavors that make our culture unique, ensuring that the spirit of Guyana lives on, no matter where we are in the world.
