Hello! I’m Edwin Savory, a proud miner residing in the vibrant Lil Red Village on the Essequibo Coast. Nestled in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I draw inspiration from the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the sounds of the Pomeroon River and the warmth of my community, I’ve learned to appreciate the simple joys of life—especially the incredible flavors of our local cuisine, from curry chicken to hearty cow feet with yellow split peas.
My work in mining has allowed me to contribute to the development of our beloved Guyana, a place I hold dear. I often reminisce about the traditional gatherings where families come together to share stories and meals, showcasing the strength of our community ties. As a Guyanese, I also feel a deep connection to our diaspora, and I believe in the importance of bringing our people back home. It’s essential that we honor our heritage, whether it's through naming streets after our legends like Rohan Kanhai or simply by enriching our culture with every returnee's experience.
When I’m not on the job, you can find me exploring the hidden gems of our country or enjoying a good plate of cook-up rice with friends. I love to share the beauty of Guyana with others and advocate for its development. Every corner of this land, from the bustling markets to the serene rivers, tells a story worth sharing, and I am proud to be a part of it.
