Greetings! I’m Egbert Crighton, a proud miner from the lush lands of Coast 9 Public Road in Henrietta, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve always been surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of our rainforests and rivers, where a simple day can involve fishing in the Pomeroon River or enjoying a hearty meal of metemgee and fried fish with family. My work as a miner connects me to the rich natural resources of our country, a vital part of our heritage and economy.
Guyana holds a special place in my heart, and so does the vibrant diaspora community that stretches far beyond our borders. Whether I’m chatting with friends in the USA or exchanging stories with relatives in Canada and the UK, our love for home remains strong. I often reminisce about the lively sounds of the Mashramani celebrations and the delicious flavors of our national dish, pepperpot, that we share during special occasions.
