Hello! I’m Eknauth Sumeer, a proud fireman hailing from the vibrant community of Regina Essequibo Coast, specifically 98 Belle Street, Anna in Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this beautiful land, where the lush greenery and flowing rivers tell stories of resilience and unity. Growing up near the Pomeroon River, I have cherished memories of fishing and enjoying the sweet taste of ripe mangoes and fresh coconut water, all while surrounded by the warmth of family and friends.
As a fireman, I am dedicated to serving my community and ensuring safety for all. The camaraderie among my colleagues and the bonds we create with the people we protect remind me of the strong community ties we share in Guyana. Whether it’s sharing a hearty plate of curry and rice after a long shift or reminiscing about our favorite spots like Manawarin Kairee Island or Lower Pomeroon, these experiences keep me grounded. I also have a keen awareness of the challenges our nation faces, from political struggles to economic hurdles, and this fuels my desire to contribute positively to our society.
Though I now find myself in the diaspora, my heart always beats for Guyana. I stay connected through gatherings, whether it's a New Year celebration or a simple get-together to share stories and laughter.
