Welcome! I'm Elizabeth Teekaram, a proud daughter of Pomeroon-Supenaam, Guyana. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of this incredible country has shaped my passion for our rich culture and heritage. From savoring the delightful taste of dalpuri, a beloved local delicacy, to exploring the serene beauty of our rivers, every moment here reflects the warmth and resilience of our people. While Guyana may often be overlooked in discussions about South America, I carry the spirit of our unique Caribbean identity with pride as one of the few non-island members of CARICOM.
Through my experiences, including a rewarding stint at the US embassy in Georgetown, I have come to appreciate the diverse backgrounds that contribute to our collective narrative. The stories I hear from the Guyanese diaspora inspire me daily, reinforcing the bond we share no matter where we are in the world. With each connection, whether reminiscing about Mashramani festivities or discussing the beauty of our coastlines, I celebrate what it means to be Guyanese.
