Growing up in Guyana, I’ve always had a deep appreciation for our stunning landscapes, from the mighty Essequibo River to the lush rainforests that are home to unique wildlife. I love sharing stories about our beautiful country, which is often overlooked. Did you know that Pokémon creators referenced Guyana in their games? There’s a diary in the Pokémon Mansion that talks about a mysterious Pokémon discovered deep in the jungle on July 5th – a little nod to our enchanting heritage!
While I currently reside in Guyana, I cherish the connections I have with the Guyanese diaspora around the world. Whether it’s through shared experiences or reminiscing about home, I feel a strong sense of community wherever I go.
