About ELIZABETH MELISSA MANGAR

About Elizabeth Mangar

Hello! I’m Elizabeth Mangar, a proud resident of West Coast Demerara, specifically 63 Fifth Street in the beautiful Essequibo Islands-West Demerara region. Growing up in this vibrant area has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our rich culture, from the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon River to the warmth of our community. Being surrounded by the sights and sounds of our local markets, where the aroma of freshly made dhal puri fills the air, always reminds me of the flavors of home.

As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the connections I've formed with fellow Guyanese both locally and abroad. I fondly remember my childhood adventures, from exploring the tranquil rivers of Coporoto and Lemong Island to sharing stories with family and friends about our beloved St. Monica. These experiences have shaped my identity and fueled my passion for celebrating our heritage, whether it's through traditional festivities or simply enjoying a plate of curry with loved ones.

I invite you to join me in keeping our culture alive, whether it’s by sharing recipes, discussing the significance of our landmarks, or reminiscing about life in Guyana. As we say, “Grant good fortune” to each other, let’s continue to uplift our community, both at home and in the diaspora. I look forward to connecting with you!
