Hello! I’m Elizabeth Lokie Harris, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast, living on 26 Back Street Paradise in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of Guyana has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our rich culture and traditions. From the aroma of freshly cooked cook-up rice to the lively sounds of chutney music at community gatherings, my life here is a celebration of our diverse heritage.
As a passionate advocate for our local cuisine and cultural practices, I cherish the moments spent sharing meals with family and friends. Whether it’s a Saturday afternoon at the St. Monica market, selecting the freshest produce, or enjoying a portion of manawarin from the Rose Hall Southern area, these experiences connect me to my roots and to the broader Guyanese diaspora. I believe in the power of community and love to engage with fellow Guyanese, both at home and abroad, to uplift and support one another.
In my free time, you can find me exploring the hidden gems of our beautiful Essequibo Coast, or volunteering with local initiatives that aim to enhance our community’s well-being. I am excited to continue sharing our story and connecting with others who carry the spirit of Guyana in their hearts, no matter where they are in the world.
