Hello! My name is Elroy Spencer, and I’m a proud carpenter hailing from the beautiful shores of the Essequibo Coast in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and flowing rivers that give Guyana its name – "land of many waters" – has shaped my appreciation for our rich culture and heritage. My family often gathers over delicious dishes like pepperpot, a hearty meal that traces back to our indigenous ancestors, and dhalphurie—a lentil-filled treat that's best enjoyed with curry. These culinary delights are more than just food; they are a reminder of our history and the vibrant culture we embrace as Guyanese.
Living in this oil-rich country, I am acutely aware of the challenges we face, from environmental concerns to the realities of urban life in our capital. Despite these challenges, I remain hopeful and committed to my community.
