Greetings! My name is Elroy Persaud, and I proudly call Anna Regina, located in the stunning Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana, my home. Growing up in Guyana, I've always appreciated our delicious culinary treasures—whether it's the mouthwatering pepperpot, the comforting satisfaction of a hearty cook-up rice, or the sweet nostalgia of fresh mangoes from the backyard. The flavors of our food tell the story of our history and our diverse heritage, drawing from Indigenous, African, Indian, and European influences. Being part of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the connections we have, whether through shared stories or the familiar sounds of our dialect that echo in the streets of New York or London.
