Hello! I’m Emanuel De Agrella, a proud farmer from the serene Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana, specifically the Upper Pom, at the cozy Cozier Canal. My daily life revolves around nurturing the land and growing the rich produce that our community is known for. The fertile soils of Pomeroon are famous for their bountiful crops, and I am grateful to contribute to this legacy that ties our culture closely to the earth and its gifts.
Growing up in Guyana, I learned the importance of our diverse heritage. The fusion of cultures, from our indigenous roots to the rich influences of Indian, African, and Amerindian traditions, is reflected in our food and music. Who could resist a plate of pepperpot or a tasty curry, especially when shared with friends and family? I cherish the gatherings where we celebrate our traditions, often near the banks of the Demerara River, where stories and laughter flow as freely as the water.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora community, I understand the longing many have for our homeland.
