Hello! I'm Errol Richardson, a proud labourer from the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana, specifically residing at Coast 253 Hampton Court. Growing up along the banks of the Potaro River, I’ve developed a strong connection to the land and its rich cultures. There’s nothing quite like the taste of fresh cook-up rice or the vibrant colors of a Phagwah celebration to remind me of home. My roots run deep in this community, where the sounds of the river and the laughter of friends and family fill the air.
As someone who actively engages with our local traditions, I cherish the moments spent sharing stories over a plate of pepperpot during the holidays or enjoying a leisurely day fishing in the rivers. Although I’ve seen some changes in our capital, Georgetown, and the challenges we face, I remain hopeful that the essence of our culture and the warmth of our people will endure. The manatees swimming gracefully in our waters remind me of the beauty that still exists, and it's a joy to see Guyanese people abroad connecting over shared experiences.
In my work, I strive to embody the spirit of resilience that Guyanese are known for. I often think about the diaspora, the good eggs who’ve sought better opportunities, yet I believe there's a strong potential for change in our homeland. I’m committed to being part of that transformation, fostering a sense of community and care among us all.
