Hello! I’m Esther Cornelius-Will, a proud housewife from the vibrant community of Essequibo St. Deny’s Tapakuma in Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this beautiful land, where the rich culture and the warmth of our people shape our daily lives. I cherish the moments spent with family, sharing stories and delicious meals, especially traditional dishes like duck curry, which always brings a taste of home.
Growing up near the majestic Pomeroon River has instilled in me a love for our natural beauty. I often reminisce about the stunning sights, whether it’s the lush greenery surrounding us or the stunning Kaiteur Falls, the largest single-drop waterfall in the world, that calls many to explore its wonders. I believe that while our country faces challenges, such as the modernization of places like the Stabroek Market, we also have so much to celebrate—our culture, our resilience, and our vibrant community spirit.
As I engage with the Guyanese diaspora, I feel a strong connection to those who share my heritage, whether it’s discussing our Bhojpuri roots or exploring our unique customs. Together, we carry the essence of Guyana wherever we go, always longing for the flavors and sounds of our homeland.
