Hello! I’m Eulike Daniels, a proud miner residing in the vibrant community of Pom. River Grant Maria's Delight in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and rich biodiversity, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our natural resources and the culture that thrives around them. From the sounds of the rivers to the flavors of our local dishes, such as balangae (eggplant) and callaloo, every element of our environment shapes who I am.
Being part of the Guyanese diaspora, I carry the stories and traditions of our ancestors with me, from the indentured labor history that connects us to communities as far away as Fiji to the lively celebrations during Phagwah and Mashramani. I believe that sharing these experiences and flavors can foster greater understanding among cultures, bringing us closer together regardless of where we find ourselves.
When I’m not working in the mines, you can find me enjoying a good meal with family and friends, reminiscing about the guenepas we used to gather as kids, or discussing the vibrant culture that Guyana is known for. My journey is not just about mining; it’s about nurturing the bonds of our community and ensuring that the essence of our heritage is passed down to the next generation.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
