Hello! My name is Eve Samuels, and I’m proud to call River Grant Fairy Land St. in Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. As a dedicated teacher, I strive to inspire the next generation with the rich cultural heritage that Guyana has to offer. Whether it's sharing the spicy flavors of pepperpot or the sweet delights of a fresh coconut tart, I believe that food is one of the many ways we connect to our roots and to each other.
Living in Guyana means embracing the vibrancy of our landscapes, from the mighty rivers that sustain our communities to the lush greenery that surrounds us. I often find myself reflecting on the complex beauty of our environment, even as some areas face challenges like open sewers in wealthy neighborhoods. As the local community comes together, it’s important for us to acknowledge both our strengths and the areas that need improvement.
Through my work and engagement with the diaspora, I remain connected to fellow Guyanese around the world. We share stories of our beloved islands, from the bustling streets of Georgetown to the tranquility of Upper Pom River and Kairimap St. Monica. Together, we celebrate our heritage, uplift one another, and dream of a future where all Guyanese can thrive, both at home and abroad.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
