Hello! I’m Evelyn Farrington, a proud domestic worker residing in the vibrant Essequibo Coast, specifically in Middle Walk, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in this beautiful region, I've been fortunate to experience the warmth of our communities and the rich cultural heritage that defines our Guyanese identity. Living in Guyana means embracing our diversity, which is reflected in our food, music, and festivals. Although I acknowledge the challenges we face, such as the need for better infrastructure and education—recently, I’ve been heartened by developments like the new bridge connecting regions and the strides we’re making towards free university education. It’s these improvements that inspire hope for a brighter future for our children.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the connections we maintain with family and friends around the world. The spirit of our Bhojpuri and Indo-Guyanese roots is something I carry with pride, even as our culture evolves.
