Hello! My name is Evelyn Ann, and I proudly call the picturesque community of Cotton Field on the Essequibo Coast my home. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of Guyana, I've developed a deep appreciation for our rich heritage—from the rhythmic sounds of chutney music that fill the air during festivities to the mouthwatering flavors of our beloved dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice. There's nothing quite like gathering with family over a hearty meal, sharing stories and laughter, which truly embodies the spirit of our community.
As a resident of this beautiful region, I take pride in our local landmarks, such as the majestic Kaieteur Falls, a sight that never fails to captivate both locals and visitors alike. Having witnessed the beauty of our country, I often find myself reminiscing about the warmth of our culture, especially as I connect with fellow Guyanese living abroad. Although I currently reside in Guyana, I understand the challenges many face, especially those considering a move back from places like Canada.
