Welcome to my corner of the world! My name is Faneeza Alli, and I proudly call Parika, located on the East Bank of the Pomeroon-Supenaam region, my home. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of Guyana, I have developed a deep appreciation for our rich heritage. From savoring the mouthwatering flavors of pepperpot during festive occasions to sharing stories under the shade of our towering palm trees, my life is intertwined with the essence of Guyanese traditions.
As a resident of this beautiful town, I am passionate about advocating for a cleaner and greener community. I often find myself reflecting on the importance of maintaining our environment, as too many streets are cluttered with garbage and lack proper waste disposal bins. Together, we can transform our beloved Parika into a shining example of what a tidy and welcoming town should be. I believe in the power of collective efforts, much like we unite as a diaspora to support each other, whether it’s through sharing experiences or celebrating our victories from afar.
Being part of the Caribbean community through CARICOM is something I hold dear, and I love to share the unique aspects of Guyanese life with others. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
