Hello! My name is Fareez Khan, and I am a dedicated medical officer located in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up amidst the vibrant culture and diverse communities of Essequibo, I developed a deep appreciation for our local traditions, from savoring a plate of pepperpot during the holidays to celebrating Diwali with family and friends. The lush landscapes here, especially along the Pomeroon River, serve as a constant reminder of the untapped potential my homeland possesses.
As a proud Guyanese, I often engage with our diaspora, sharing stories and experiences that connect us, regardless of where we are in the world. Whether it's reminiscing about the local markets bustling with fresh produce or the soothing sounds of manatees in our rivers, I find solace in knowing that we carry a piece of Guyana with us wherever we go. When I’m not in the clinic, you can find me exploring the rich culture of Guyana—whether it’s through the rhythmic beats of our folk music or enjoying a quiet evening watching the sunset over the Essequibo River.
