Hello, I’m Farida Shadick, and though I currently call the Pomeroon-Supenaam region my home, my heart is deeply rooted in the rich culture and vibrant community of Guyana. Growing up near the Pomeroon River, I cherish the memories of my childhood spent exploring the lush landscapes and attending school on the tranquil islands. With every visit to the riverbanks, I am reminded of the warmth and friendliness that define us as a people—yes, we are alive and friendly!
Food is an integral part of my identity, and I take immense pride in our culinary heritage.
