Hello! I’m Fatema Ally, a proud resident of the West Coast Demerara, specifically from the vibrant community of X60 Water Pump Street in the Essequibo Islands-West Demerara region. My roots run deep in the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage of Guyana, where the sounds of the Pomeroon River and the aroma of local dishes like curry and roti fill the air. Growing up here, I’ve developed a genuine love for our unique blend of cultures, particularly our delicious Chinese cuisine, which many, including friends from Trinidad, say is the best in the Caribbean.
Living in a country that is both geographically South American and culturally Caribbean, I find pride in our diverse identity. It’s heartwarming to hear from the diaspora, such as those in Canada, who take joy in sharing our stories and experiences.
