Growing up in this vibrant area, I’ve been fortunate to immerse myself in the rich culture and traditions of Guyana. As someone who has witnessed both the challenges and joys of life in Guyana—like the adventures of 2016 that some would say were "very dangerous" 😂—I cherish the resilience of our people. Whether it’s a boat ride down the Pomeroon River or a visit to the local markets, I find inspiration in the beauty of our landscapes and the flavors of our cuisine, like the sweet delights of black cake and the spices in our curry dishes. These moments remind me of our collective journey, especially as part of the Guyanese diaspora, where stories and memories are shared across borders.
